RATTAN and wicker (heart cane) are a species of palm that grows primarily in the tropical forests of Asia, Africa, and Australia. They are natural materials known for their strength and flexibility, but above all for their low ecological footprint. Another cane used in the CozyCane collection is MALACCA, native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, with a glossy appearance and a naturally golden brown color. It takes its name from the port city of Malacca, a major export hub located between Malaysia and Sumatra.
All reeds grow rapidly and can be harvested without killing the parent plant. They can therefore be considered a renewable material. Using these materials reduces the use of resources with a high environmental impact and helps preserve forest ecosystems.
